Nirantar Neeraj, Agra 4^th January, 2024

The Nirantar Neeraj show on Padma Bhushan Gopal Das Neeraj was staged in July 2014 in Delhi and in February, 2015 in Mumbai and had received huge appreciation. The highlight of these 2 shows was the surprise (for the audience) appearance on the stage of Neeraj ji himself and his fluent recital, despite his 90+age, in his own unique style, of several of his favourite poems.

As Neeraj ji left for his heavenly abode in 2018, Ibaadat, at the invitation of the Indian Consulate in Dubai, decided to stage this show in the Consulate’s auditorium on 12th January, 2019.

To mark the beginning of the centenary birth celebrations, Nirantar Neeraj was staged in Agra on 4^th January, 2024.

The show was in conversational style, in which his son, Mrigank, also participated. There were also recitals of scores of his poetry by his other son Shashank, as a part of the script. In this musical drama, 14 of his most poetic film songs, and 17 mukhdas, were rendered by 5 consummate singers; 2 accompanied by dance. In addition, 71 of his poems/chhands were also recited.

The event received an overwhelming appreciation.
