Main to Jaaduu Huun…Anand Bakshi, Mumbai 19th/20th February, 2025
In our continuing mission to celebrate poets and poetry, a new show on Anand Bakshi the most prolific writer with 3488 songs was produced after a 5-year research, It was premiered in Mumbai on 19th February 2025, with a repeat on 20th February, 2025 at the Nehru Centre. This was again scripted in conversational style, In this musical drama, 16 of his most poetic film songs were rendered by 6 consummate singers while another 66 mukhdas were sung in tarannum. In addition, 8 of his poems were also recited. The event received an overwhelming appreciation.

Ibaadat not just performs the songs live, singing with music, it has the sensibility to narrate many of the songs by the lyrics being narrated and or sung without music accompaniment. We realise the significance of the lyricist, the words, in the creation of the song, as it is the lyricist whose words are tuned and sung to begin with in the creation of the song.
