Ibaadat Ka Safar…The Best of Ibaadat, Delhi 12^th November, 2024

A dream was realized on 12th November 2011 with Ibaadat’s first performance. We have since then done 61 shows… covering Majrooh Sultanpuri, Shailendra, Shakeel Badayuni, Neeraj, Rajinder Krishan, Hasrat Jaipuri, Sahir Ludhianvi and Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, in 9 cities, including Dubai.

This anniversary offering, held at Kamani Auditorium, was specially curated, with selected parts of all our 8 shows… best shaayari, best anecdotes, best songs… all strung in a new story. Several family members of the poets were also a part of the drama.

Scripted in Ibaadat’s unique conversational style, 19 of their most poetic film songs were rendered in full by 6 consummate singers while another 53 mukhdas/antaras were sung in tarannum. In addition, 45 shers were also recited. 1 song was also accompanied by a dance performance. The event received phenomenal appreciation.
