Thank you, Prithviji, I will not take the thunder out of your show, for two reasons, one because your show is so amazing that I can’t really do it and second is I don’t know how to sing. So thank you everyone for joining us today this evening. It’s special because some of these evenings take us back in time and this is what we really are here to experience with you. You know Majrooh Sahab once wrote “Jaane walon zara mud ke dekho mujhe”. Tonight let’s turn back and revisit the timeless poetry that Majrooh sahab has written. Prithviji and Ibaadat Foudation have been giving lyricists and poets the spotlight they deserve. We at Kotak Bank are proud to be part of this initiative. This is our third year in row. After all, words have lot of power. In poetry, they convey a message in simple words which otherwise we cannot convey. Lot of times, some poems, some mukhdas or antaras convey things that you can’t really say otherwise. And a lot of these things have a different meaning for people who say and people who hear. That’s the power of the great poetry, doesn’t just reflect life, it becomes a part of it. And tonight, we celebrate one of its finest…Majrooh Sultanpuri. Majrooh Sahab also understood the pain of a banker, lot of us are here, when he wrote “Uthaaye jaa unke sitam, aur jiye jaa, yun hi muskuraye jaa aansu piye jaa, wo gum de tujhe tuu duaayein diye jaa”, this is a advice to relationship manager. He also understood the pulse of the Bombay city when he wrote “Ae dil hai mushkil jeena yahaan, zara hatke zara bachke, ye hai Bambai meri jaan”, the pain of a Mumbaikar trying to find a parking in Bombay. And the beauty is that the poetry was more than just on a period of time or one generation, it was for everyone who has ever loved, lost, hoped or wondered. And tonight, we celebrate one again with the voices of incredible artistes who will bring his words to life. So thank you for being here, for supporting Ibaadat Foundation and for keeping the legacy of legends alive. I would like to extend my gratitude to Prithviji, I know Prithviji for now more than 25 years, Great to see him building Ibaadat Foundation and giving lyricists the recognition they deserve.
