I must say that the event had a well-researched script, nicely presented, the singers very well sand the songs and above all the use of the accompanying instrumentation was satisfying, since it was not loud. Overall, the presentation of the singers was adequately prudent even in instances singing without any instrumental support, which speaks a lot about their calibre. But, the manner in which Ms Supriya Joshi sang was indeed exquisite rather outstanding. As besides her brilliant voice quality, she appeared to have understood the feelings behind the respective verses. This aspect had been a vital facet of our grand bygone era, which I attempted to record in my book also.

I admire your tremendous passion for Hindi music and lyrics and that Ibaadat Foundation has presented programmes on eminent lyricists. I do thank you for sending invitation mails and personally calling on 23rd morning to inform about invitation cards and later again sent a message in the afternoon to confirm if they were received. Your personal touch is much appreciated as I can imagine how hectic your schedule must have been on show day. The show was professionally done with talented semiprofessional singers and Ibaadat trustees themselves sitting in drawing room style. In your hall mark style, you all sat facing the audience and took rotating turns to tell the story of the lyricist, keeping up the flow and also sang on stage. It was good to see the programme received loud applause on every number that was rendered at the packed Kamani auditorium. Rajinderji’s son Rajesh Duggal was also present on stage and shared personal memories. Supriya Joshi has a melodious voice and charming presence suited especially for the singing shows. Your research is much appreciated as Rajinder ji was media shy and very little material is available on him. I also sincerely appreciate you and your entire team performed smartly dressed in suits and ties in honor of this taste of Rajinder Krishan who was always dressed in jacket and tie.! In my opinion, there was aristocracy in Rajinder Krishan’s lyrics and therefore he was one of my natural favorites. His one following lyrics have also been part of my personal life:
‘Woh chhup rahein to mere dil ke daag jalte hain
Woh baat karlein to bujhte chiraag jalte hain
Udhar to hai ek sulagta hua sa veerana,
idhar bahaaron mein bagh jalte hain.

I was transported to my teen times in Bombay when I was a Vividh Bharti addict, much to my parent's chagrin. Film and folk songs were considered light and frivolous singing in our traditional home. The evening commenced with Sangeet 'a' to proceed with that 'Anand' journey brought us to 'Prithvi'. Woven with anecdotes from the life of 'krishan' Ji with songs in voices of each of those brilliant artists was truly a blast from the past.

I must say, after seeing this one, I really regret missing the earlier shows. It was beautifully crafted; extremely well researched, covered the numerous facets of Rajinder Krishan and above all blended the whole narrative in a captivating storytelling musical format. The quality of singers was superb. One better than the other. The Lata, the Mohd. Rafi, the KK, and the Manna Dey/Talat. all in all, a show that was superb. I won't miss any future show.
