Prithvi Haldea, 61, an MBA from BITS Pilani (1971), worked for 18 years at senior positions in the corporate sector in the areas of exports, consulting and advertising, including with The World Bank. In 1989, he set up PRIME Database (www.primedatabase.com), which is the country's premier database on the primary capital market, with a large subscriber base, and widely reported by the media.
Prithvi is presently the Central Government Nominee on the Governing Council of ICAI, Member of the Quality Review Board, Member of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Member of SEBI Primary Market Advisory Committee, several committees of SEBI, NSE, and various chambers. He has served many Committees including Finance Minister’s High-level Expert Committee on Corporate Bonds and Securitization. He was also among the first Trustees of PFRDA.
As an investor protection activist, Prithvi has launched several unique websites including watchoutinvestors.com, primedirectors.com and directorsdatabase.com. He has also created msmementor.in, a national skills registry of professionals for the benefit of MSMEs. Prithvi has also extended his skills to other organizations…he has created bsepsu.com, a website dedicated to disinvestments, a new website divest.nic.in for the Department of Disinvestment, and PE/VC Directory for IVCA.
Prithvi loves Urdu poetry and is a huge fan of Mukesh. He is an avid traveller.
